Pork Tenderloin Sandwich $16.Bobby Flay. If you've ever watched the Food Network, Bobby Flay is a name that should be very familiar to you. He is an American celebrity chef specializing southwestern and Cajun style barbeque. Mesa Grill is one of the restaurants that Flay is both owner and executive chef.
Opened in 2004, Mesa Grill is located inside Caesar's Palace right beside rows and rows of slot machines and casino tables. Its signature dishes are steak. Mesa Grill has a simple exterior with a nice open bar-like interior with a large projection TV at the back. The bar area is small and that was the only available seats when I arrived.
Dinner hours are frequently booked up a few days in advanced but lunch hours are much more walk in friendly. My expectations were definitely high for this restaurant as my friends have mentioned about trying to eat here before and the booked up dinner hours should mean something. How could so many people be wrong?

The Southwestern Fries came out hot and crispy. The fries were lightly cajun spiced with lots of black pepper. I really liked these fries. Quality of the fries varied with some being crispy with a moist inside while a few were darker color, harder, and cooler.
The Mexican spiced pork tenderloin with grilled red onion and Arugula Ancho-Chile mayonnaise sounds a lot better than it tasted. The pork was cool, dry, and thin. It sort of tasted like very lean Chinese BBQ pork since it was sweet. Perhaps the onions were grilled, I didn't notice when I was biting into it, but I know it was cool too. I was really let down by the sandwich. I wish there was a refund policy.
I liked the fries. I like Chinese BBQ pork better. I did like the service. I was totally let down. I'm really not sure how Bobby Flay could lend his name to such bad food but it's perhaps I came on a weekend and weekend mornings and afternoons only serve from the brunch menu - which doesn't have steak. Try at your own risk. I didn't think the walk from the Venetian was worth it.

So your grilled sandwich was cold huh? That's too bad. The fries do look yummy though. A lot better then the ones that I had today from the cafeteria. It was cold, hard, and just bleah. Even my sandwich was premade and I had ordered a grilled bacon and cheese sandwich. At first I wanted a grilled cheese and then the lady asked if I wanted bacon and cheese so I'm like sure. The guy was about to make my sandwich but when I said I wanted bacon and cheese he stopped and the lady grabbed one that they had made ahead of time.
NO!! i definitely don't like that. Pre-made sooo doesn't taste as good as fresh. I've stood in line before waiting for fresh over pre-made before. It was totally worth it and even took a photo of myself. I'll blog about it soon.
i like cold sandwiches... but theyshouldn't have any type of oil on it, except olive oil.
@rice_eric - I know. It so wasn't worth the $6.66 that I had to pay for. That cafeteria seriously needs to serve better food, but I shouldn't be expecting much.
@rice_eric - perfect, i am planning go head down to auberge as well, but this time it's to dine, and not slave my ass off in the back. I am also bringing the mistress, want to head down together or is what you guys are doing private?
@osmundaregalis - It's warm outside. Why don't you go out and find something else?
@rice_eric - I was actually craving for a grilled cheese sandwich today so I had to have it, but sighs... I won't bother going to that cafeteria again.
@rice_eric - actually note me instead, we will talk about the details there, i don't want someone to get jealous.
That's disappointing. I wonder how the steaks are.
On one level, I'm highly suspicious of any restaurant that has a Food
Network name attached to it. Sorry your sandwich wasn't better because
the initial description sounded so promising.
@yang1815 - I wonder too... :(
@christao408 - I still like Andrew Zimmerman who's from the Travel Channel. Too bad Food Network bought them.
@Made2Order - My gf is still sorting out when she's eating with her family. I'll let you know by Tuesday night.
