  • KFC: Grilled Chicken

After watching numerous KFC grilled chicken commericals with lots of happy paid people claiming the grilled chicken was delicious and hearing how Opera was all raving over the new grilled chicken, I had to give it a try myself.  So I dropped by the KFC along the way home to pick up some grilled chicken for my dinner.  I'm doing this for all my readers so they wouldn't have to suffer like I will.

The inside of KFC is unpleasantly small and cheap.  It's like Mc Donald's back in the mid 80's.

The $3.99 2-piece Grilled Chicken Meal:

As you can see, the pieces of chicken are about the size of the biscuit which is about half the size of my closed fist.  It was really dinky small.  The look of the chicken skin made it look like it had been sitting under the light for half the day.  The biscuit was dry on the top from standing under the light and moist on the bottom from the condensation.  Mashed potatoes was soft and an even consistency.  Coleslaw was as you'd expect from KFC.

After taking a bite of the grilled chicken:

Surprisingly it was moist and juicy inside.  I just wished there was more chicken though.  The skin was like wax paper but tasty.  Overall the grilled chicken tasted like the rotisserie chicken you can buy at your local grocery store.

It's tough to beat the price of 2 piece grilled chicken and 2 sides for $3.99.  The chicken and sides are editable but not really enjoyable.  It really wasn't that bad or that great.  I could've got a bigger and juicier chicken from Pathmark grocery store.  Another good thing about this light meal is that I didn't suffer the stomach problems normally associated with after eating lots of fried chicken from KFC.
