Monte Carlo, MonacoI've been away from Xanga for quite a while 'cause I was vacationing it up in Monte Carlo, Monaco for the week. Had some really good food and had a lot of fun. I'll try to get to all the restaurants I visited on my blog in the next couple entries.
Monaco borders both France and Italy so it features foods from both those countries. Since I'm sucha fan of desserts, I just had to try the gelato in Monaco since it's a staple of Italy:
This was one of the few places still open after 6pm.

Pistachio Gelato:
For 2 EUROs you get a pretty big scoop of gelato and a waffle cone. The price is definitely on par with what you get at Baskin Robbins but the gelato from La Gelateria is so much better than BR's ice cream. The gelato was creamy with just a bit of pistachio flavor. I think I prefer walnut flavor but this was still good.

mmmm.... pistachio gelato. i use that flavour as my baseline. if the gelato place makes good pistachio gelato, chances are very good that most of the other flavours are good too.
if you get a chance (and if they have it) while in Europe you should also give Fig a try. oh... and blood orange. try them *with* the pistachio. sooooooo yummy!
do you know if this gelato place new? i didn't see it last time i was in Monte Carlo.

@cokeaddict the baseline is a good idea. I always do salmon sushi to baseline Japanese sushi places. Hmm... i've never seen Fig yet. I'll have to keep a look out next time I'm in Europe. This place did look new and it wasn't so busy so it's probably new. What did you do in the evenings in Monte Carlo? Everything seems closed so by the 3rd-4th night, it was boring
