As much as TV says I shouldn't eat hamburgers because they're bad for you (in the fatty way), I always enjoy a good burger. My favorite chain burger restaurant in Canada is Harvey's but they don't have that in the US. They serve pre-made patties but they taste much more juicy and flavorful than most other premade patties. But I actually prefer non-premade patties but I haven't really found a great one to justify the higher price. So I'm still on a look out for THE best burger. My last good burger in NYC was a juicy burger from Connolly's Bar & Restaurant. Let's find out how City Burger fares.
We wanted something fast and I wasn't keen on getting something healthy from Pret a Manager so we opt'ed for the burger point next door:

It's a pretty retro interior resembling something from the 80's.
Very functional ordering counter:

There are very limited seating of hard plastic seats and small narrow eating counters.
A simple burger:

Burgers are cooked on order so they take a while to prepare. You can get your burger well done, medium, or more bloody. I went for medium but you can see a bit of red at the bottom of the bun. The beef is thick and juicy. It doesn't taste like the usual premade patties as the meat separates easily. Lettuce and tomato was crunchy but I only got one slice of each. The top of the bun is toasted too. It's a delicious burger that I'd order again. Perhaps I've been living in New York a little too long but I thought $5 for a burger was a good price at the time but in retrospect I realize it's pretty small for the price. But I'd still get it since it's yummy.
Fries:

I was a bit disappointed that these were only warm and not hot. It's just your regular fries. They were still good, slightly crunch on the outside and nice potatoy on the inside.
Slow food preparation, crappy interior, and only fair priced food keeps this place from getting a better score than 3. I really like the burger so I'd actually make the effort to come here if I'm in the area and feeling like a burger. The washroom is a single room so if it's a busy day, try not to drink too much. People say that Shake Shack serves a good burger so I'll have to make a visit there someday.
