http://www.crumbs.comWith a number of stores in New York City, Crumbs is a very popular place for cupcakes. There can be long lines in the morning so try to make it there early.
Their clear take out bags make your cupcakes easily visible to envious passerbys.
Assorted mini-cupcakes (was a pack of 12 but they go fast):
There are numerous toppings for the cupcakes from strawberry swirls to M&M mini covered tops. The Oreo and coconut tops are a fresh sight. The cupcake tops are VERY sweet. The taste is very strong and very intense. I generally wipe off half of the icing from the top. The cake part is very moist and soft. It's between the thickness of a cake and a brownie. It's really good but with such a sweet top, you can't eat too much before you get cavities.
I think these are one of the best cupcakes I've had but compared to some cakes and brownies, it's nothing special. A pack of 12 cupcakes in their Taste Pack is $18 - these cup cakes are pricy. But its quality toppings and cake easily set these apart from the ones you get at the grocery store. I recommend a try. Another popular place for cupcakes is Magnolia Bakery.
