After many many months of toiling on a project at work, our project finally went live.  To celebrate, we had a big dinner party at my manager's favorite, and possibly overhyped, steak restaurant.  Inside is decorated much like Ben & Jack's Steak House so I would dress appropriately (at least business casual).

Before sitting at our tables we enjoyed a few glasses of wine over fresh mozzerella, tomatoes, and fresh oysters. All of it was very fresh with crisp tomatoes and non-sour large oysters that just slips through your mouth.

Lump Crab Meat & Bay Scallops:

Wow this dish really set a high standard with its large juicy pieces of crab meat and scallops.  The warm butter kept it all very moist and flavorful.  Beware of small crab shells however.

    Filet Mignon:

The filet was very juicy and tasty.  Inside was cooked just right and the outside was slightly crispy without being burnt.  The taste was uniform throughout the steak.

    New York Steak:

Not as nice looking on the outside as the filet mignon but still very good.

Inside a medium rare New York steak:

Very tender and you don't need a very big steak knife to cut through this steak.  Juicy with lots of flavor.  It's really good but not as good as steak from Ben & Jack's Steak House or Houston's (review coming soon).  It is a better steak than some of the fine steak restaurants in Texas like III Forks and Perry's.

    Hash Brown Potatoes

If those steaks aren't enough to fill you the potatoes above will.  I had a bit of it but it's nothing really to write about.  Just potatoes cooked with bacon bits.

    Dessert platter:

Tartufo (top), brownie cake (right), strawberries (bottom), cheesecake (bottom left), and raspberries (left).  I prefer thick creamy ice cream opposed to the lighter tartufo but it was still good.  The best was the brownie cake.

Steaks were between $45 to $60 and the lump crab meat & bay scallops appetizer was mid to high-20s.  I definitely enjoyed the crab meat the most.  The steaks were good but there are better options for the price as I mentioned above.  The dessert didn't hit it out of the park for me and was the weakest part of the night.  I recommend giving Sparks a visit as a few of my coworkers did think it was the best steak restaurant they've ever been to.  But a few of us preferred the Hawaiian steak from Houston's.

Making me hungry. :) I enjoy a good steak.

I just came by to say you have a good idea, hen I go and vote for it using my locked account. :S The blog rings here don't really work all that much in the first place and when you have members with the lock on, I wonder what their point is. I would almost say if an account is locked they should not be a part of the blog ring. Their friends will get updated via the Inbox.
