Wasabi - All you can eat Japanese feast
270 West Beaver Creek Road
Richmond Hill, ON L4B 3Y9
905-881-6288All you can eat. I shutter when I hear those words together. It's usually subpar food - and lots of it. So when a family friend asked us out to Wasabi, I wasn't sure what to think of it. I heard from some friends that it was good while others have told me that it's "alright". This was a great opportunity for give it a try and see for myself that is just as famous as another popular buffet called Starwalk Buffet.
It's a huge nicely decorated interior:
I really felt like a spy taking these photos of the buffet:
There are a number of hot food and cold food stations. Much more than Mandarin.
You can order platters of sushi:
Most of these tasted dry as though they've been sitting out for a while
Dragon roll:
The sushi roll wasn't bad but it really doesn't stand out. The shrimp inside wasn't bad.
Sushi Salmon Pizza:
The pizza was old, tough, and dry on the outside. The interior was very solid, moist, but hard.
There's a number of seafood and hot foods:
Even crab!!
A hard item to get is tempura:
Everyone wants these so when they do come it gets finished very quickly.
For dessert there's a chocolate fountain:
I'm a little wary of fountains because it's the same chocolate that's recirculated so I hope people don't dip their hands in it. But it is a cool thing to be part of the buffet.
The banana is good for dipping in the chocolate.
There's no doubt that buffets are just alright. This is the same thing. The sushi wasn't good at all. I would rather go to Sushi on 7 for sushi. The hot food selection was very good with quality and quantity much better than Mandarin. The seating area is huge and they're very pushy to ensure you are out within the 1.5 hour limit. I recommend a visit just to see if it's your cup of tea if you like buffets. But if you're like me, I would stay away from Wasabi.

@foodpics lol I didn't notice you moved blogs. I noticed some food blogs I follow don't update as much as they did. Yeah, tempura and pretty much anything fried goes fast like fries! I feel like some right now.
@always_bb I was there 4 weeks ago ;) But if I were there at the same time, would you have recognized me? :)
