With all my travels, there are the occasional times I end up eating at the hotel for some reason like included breakfast, it's late and there's nothing open, I'm too lazy to go out again, or lack of time.  Lack of time was this time's reason.  I was in Los Angeles for the Nokia Premiere of a world wide collaborative video project to create a film with Spike Lee directing.  I posted my thoughts on it in my other blog so let's get down to some food!

The front of the Omni hotel:

There's no self parking so you need to valet your car.  I don't know about you but I don't trust my car with strangers.

The rear of the Omni hotel which also features the Noe patio:

I was in Los Angeles for the Nokia Premiere with a number of fellow bloggers:

They don't blog about food but some of their blogs have a much larger readership.

Yellow Fin Tuna Sashimi Salad with Soy Dressing:

There were 5 slices of tuna covered with a light covering of various greens.  The soy sauce wasn't overwhelming which was good.  There's only 1 cherry tomato sliced in halves for this salad.  It's really good but for $14, I'd expect more.

    BLT Sliders with Basil Pesto:

It wasn't what I was expecting either.  That's basil pesto, one leaf of lettuce, and quarter slice of bacon with two fried tomatos.  It was weird but it tasted amazing.  The fried tomatoes were crunchy and didn't taste like tomato.  They were probably green tomatoes.  They mixed well with the soft basil.  It is very pricy at $13 but it is worth a try if you're at the Omni Hotel in Los Angeles.

The service is nice but rarely came by our table so it left my iced tea empty more often than it had iced tea.  The food was slow arriving too.  But the interesting food and quality definitely made up for all that.  It's on the pricey side but thankfully Nokia was covering it.  Thanks Nokia!
