There are a number of chain restaurants in Toronto such as Casey's, Jack Astors, The Keg, Alice Fazooli's, and Montana's.  This time I'm reviewing a chain restaurant that sits below The Keg and perhaps at the same level as Oliver Bonacini.  Milestone's offers a mix of pasta, salad, fishes, and sandwiches which they do generally pretty well.  I'll be reviewing the Markham restaurant but their more popular destinations are the ones downtown which have a better decor.

A nice interior that's on the dim side for those evening dinners:

    Grilled Shrimp California Benedict

It didn't look well organized and tidy as the web page.  It's on the sloppy side but it tasted good with medium sized shrimps (way larger than the ones from bongo room) but or course that means there aren't many shrimps.  The egg was fresh and hot and wasn't dry.  The blend of airly egg, srunchy shrimp, soft avocado, and chewy English muffin make it a wealth of texture for your mouth and it tasted good too.  The potatoes were well seasoned and roasted well.

    Grilled Chicken Pesto Fettucini:

The fettucini was smooth and had a thick and chewy feel to them.  The pasta definitely tasted fresh.  The garlic bread looked burnt with its dark texture but it didn't taste that way.  It was heavily trenched in butter.  It was really good.  Thick, buttery, dense, and moist.  It's a good garlic bread.  The chicken was not as good as the pasta or bread with it being on the dry side and fairly tasteless since it's the usual breast meat.

The service at our location was decent but not very helpful.  I've had better servers at the downtown location but Milestone's is generally understaffed in servers.  The food quality is high but the prices are on the high side for lunch at $35 with no alcohol but reasonable for dinner since the prices are the same.  The food isn't amazing but it is good for a chain restaurant.  The decor and quality food make this an alright place to bring a date but the dinner locations are a tad on the loud side.  I wouldn't mind coming back to Milestone's but I wouldn't intentionally come here.
