Two of Chicago's most popular attractions are the Field Museum and the Shedd Aquarium and located in close proxmity to each other in Museum Park.  We had gone to the Museum of Science & Industry in the morning (it's in the far South side of Chicago) and had enough time to visit one more museum so we decided to go to the Shedd Aquarium:

When you get off at Roosevelt Subway station you're greeted by a few restaurants, a wine store, and some condo sales offices.  We were hungry so we were looking to eat before getting into the museums.  We couldn't see anything over the bridge towards Museum Park so we played it safe and went to a restaurant we could see... which turns out to be Americanized Chinese restaurant called Yang:

The interior is very small but a wood/glass door separates the take out order counter from the dining area.

We came in the late after but saw a lot of dirty dishes left on most of the tables.

    Potsicker:

These were fresh and hot but after watching so many TV news shows talking about fake meat or pure fat used in Chinese food I was wondering how much meat was inside after biting in and seeing mostly fat.  But it was very tasty and 4 pan fried dumplings for $2.75 is a good price.

    Beef and Broccoli:

This sauce was very salty and gooy.  The beef was very tough and dry not matching the texture of the broccoli.  I have a sinking feeling that the beef was reused.  Hopefully not as bad as being meat washed from the night before.  It's cheap for $5.25 but I don't think I'd want to try this again.

We stayed long enough to see the cook come out from the kitchen and he looked really filthy.  I don't remember if he picked his nose or not but he was dirty enough that you could easily imagined that he did.  Sounds pretty bad doesn't it?  I felt that way throughout my lunch but I didn't get sick that afternoon so either it's not that dirty or I've built up a strong stomach after a few months of eating my own cooking.  I wouldn't recommend this place as it feels dirty and food is of low quality.
