With a long across America flight ahead of me, I'm hanging around Vancouver's International airport to pass the time.  The facility is very large and possibly because it's the weekend and early in the day, very empty too.  The international airport is very well decorated with a mini bridge over streaming water and a large aquarium at the end of this area.

With my Sapphire status with One World, I get access to Cathay Pacific's Business Lounge:

It's a bit hard to find since there's no large logos typical airline lounges.  You'll need to take the elevator on the left right after security to the third floor.  There you'll be in an empty hallway that looks just like one from a typical office building.  If I didn't see that life-sized paper flight attendent dressed in red, I might have missed the lounge completely.

The lounge is small compared to others I've been to.  There's a small computer business center just behind me when I took this photo.

Around the corner is the kitchen with a few snacks:

There's the usual juices, pop, some beers, wine, cookies, fruits, and cereal.

The biggest surprise was under the Chinese bamboo steamer:

Yum!  Rice wrapped in lotus leaf and pork balls (siu mai).  Although I already had some A&W from the airport food court, I couldn't pass up some yummy hot food.

The sticky rice in lotus leaf:

It was still warm/hot and very yummy.  It's even better than most Chinese restaurants since these haven't been out for a long time and end up drying up.  The siu mai was equally good.  I wanted to go for seconds but I didn't want to stuff myself.

The Cathay Pacific Business Lounge in Vancouver airport is small but nicely decorated.  There are no shower facilities and the washroom isn't very large either.  The kitchen had a very limited selection but the hot foods were really good and made up for any deficiencies.  Service was fast and courteous.  The lounge also provides free WiFi.  Like all airport lounges, I highly recommend visiting them if you have access to them.  You get a comfortable seating area, complimentary food and beverages, and access to Internet.
