Look so Real
Aberdeen Centre
4151 Hazelbridge Way, Unit 3750
Ricmond, BC
604-295-8195I'm in Vancouver for my uncle's wedding and find myself in Aberdeen Centre, Vancouver's largest Asian mall, looking for some snacks to get me through that afternoon hunger. I find a really interesting place called "Look so Real" and notice they display all their food out for you.
It just opened recently so it was relatively busy.
Here are some of the food they had on display:
It feels just like Japan where they cook food they looks almost like the fake stuff they put out.
They didn't post any prices outside but many of their large dishes were in the $500 range while smaller ones were around $100. That's a lot of money so I didn't get a chance to eat here.
Well... truth be told, this isn't a restaurant and the prices are for the fake food. They don't look as real as some of the ones I've seen in Japan but they are fairly good. Their shark fin soup looked tasty. They even had a fake BBQ pig for display. That didn't look real up close. The prices are VERY high for any of the fake food. The more reasonably priced ones are key chains that average $5 in cost. I saw a lot of kids playing with the food in the store. It's worth a visit if you're at Aberdeen but there's nothing to eat so I have nothing to recommend.

i would always touch it to see if it's real
i was under the impression that it was real, but they covered it in glaze
i didn't know fake food was that expensive though
I am addicted to your blog!
Reader's suggestion: maybe some vegetarian fare at some vegetarian restaurant. Just a suggestion though... =]
