http://www.subway.comThey've been the top fast food franchise for a number of years in a Entreprenueur.com. But what exactly does their food taste like? With 29518 restaurants In 87 countries, it's not hard to find someone who knows what it tastes like. But since I'm a food blog and I've already blogged about other fast food favorites like McDonald's, Harvey's, Wendy's, and In-N-Out I need to cover such a popular restaurant like Subway.
Italian Herb and Cheese bread for my sub:
Subway offers various breads such as Italian, Hardy Italian, Italian Herb and Cheese, Wheat, and Honey Oat. They all taste similar to each other so I order the one that has the most things on top.
The Roast Beef:
If you're looking really hard to find the meat, you're not alone. It's actually on the right side under the cheese. I like mine toasted for half the usual time. The full toasted time burns the edges of the bread in most cases. You have your choice of toppings like the standard lettuce, tomatoes, cucumbers, jalapeno, green peppers, olives, onion, and sweet peppers. You also have a choice of sauce like Sweet Onion or Ranch.
Since it's franchised, you can expect a varying degree of quality service. Some of them are very free with the toppings tossing as much onto your sub as they can grab in their hands. Then there are the more common counting the jalapenos or green peppers and picking them off your sub to throw back into their bin if they've dropped too much. Of course, you can ask them for extra toppings if you feel you've been jipped. However, cheese is restricted to 3 slices per foot long. Meats are standardized too with premium meats such as chicken or steak coming in subway standard sized paper trays. One tray per half foot long. With all the toppings counting, lack of meat, you come away feeling ripped off no matter how you slice a $5 into a foot long. It's the bread that fills you and the rest is just for flavoring. I eat Subway when I'm sick of hamburgers and Chinese fast food like Manchu Wok. I'm not really sure how healthy Subway is but at least it's not fried. If you're wondering, yes, I prefer Subway over Mr. Submarine any time

the bread is different, but you can ask for whatever toppings u want at both places.
the veggies are prepared in advance (i've seen subway refill shredded lettuce from a plastic bag). and the meat at both places is just heated when you order.
I agree with the poster above, the chicken teriyaki is the way to go.
