Located close to my current office, Cafe Jane is a small family owned Korean restaurant that also serves sushi, not too different from Miga in Mississauga.

A very small home-like interior makes you feel welcome:

Miso soup and salad accompany most orders:

    Sushi combo with California rolls:

The sushi wasn't very fresh and tasted dry and warmish.  The eel had a lot of sweet sauce on it and tasted like those you buy from the grocery store.  The California wasn't anything to write home about.  At least the avocado was very soft.

    Kalbi:

Very tasty beef ribs but thinly sliced.  I prefer the big bone version.  The ribs didn't show any grill marks and look like how it's done at my home so it's likely pan fried.  The rubs were sauced well and fairly sweet.  The rice was moist and more mushy than traditional Chinese rice.

The Japanese food at Cafe Jane is disappointing.  Some of my coworkers didn't finish their sushi.  I had one of their rolls and I couldn't eat more of it either.  The Korean food was nothing special and could very likely be prepared at home.  The service was friendly.  The food took a long time to come.  After two tries at Cafe Jane, we haven't gone back.
