When it comes to food at the airport, it's fairly hit or miss.  If you're already at the airport you're limited to what you can get.  Sometimes you have have restaurants or a food court before you go through security like LaGuardia Airport (LGA) Main Terminal with very limited choices after security or you have no choices before security like most terminals in Los Angeles (LAX).  At some airports there's nothing but bad pre-made foods or just convenience stores.  Luckily Terminal 8 at JFK is fairly new and includes a small but decent food court with McDonald's, a Chinese fast food restaurant, and hot dogs, and a pizza place called Abitino's:

The line up is a bit disorganized when there are a few people since there's no clear indication on where the line starts.  It starts on the left with ordering what you want then to the cashier at the right to pay.  Some people paid then tried to order.

With a fairly new terminal comes a fairly new food court:

The seating area is small and there aren't a lot of seats.  When it's peak hours, I can see this area packed.

Grilled Chicken with broccoli and hot pepper stromboli:

I wanted something remotely healthy so I got broccoli.

    A close up:

I thought those were red peppers but they were hot pepper.  Once again I put a couple of shakes of the crushed hot peppers on my stromboli to spice it up.  I think I was there shaking a little more than the usual since the cashier smiled and chuckled looking at the amount of crushed pepper I had.  There's no sauce on the stromboli so it's fairly dry compared to pizza.  The inside of the italian bread is lined with cheese.  There's only a few slices of grilled chicken.  I could probably count it as 6-8 slices.  There was also a equal volume of hot peppers to broccoli.  The stromboli was reheated in the oven which made the bread very soft and good tasting... almost like a pretzel.  I was left wanting something more significant but it was good for a light dinner or afternoon snack.
