http://burgerheaven.comAlong the way back from my company's New York office, I wanted some juicy burger or hot dog/sausage for lunch. Unfortunately, most of the street vendors served either roasted nuts or some kind of Indian thing. There were a few street meat vendors but they had boiled hot dog. How can you serve boiled hot dogs as street meat? You have to grill them on an open flame! I was starting to miss Harvey's. I walked by a restaurant called Burger Heaven and since it had the word "burger" in there I was hoping they'd do a decent job on it:
A very plain diner like interior:
My fork and knife were dirty so I stolen the set beside me.
Classic Beef Burger
I asked for medium well done. Wow. That looks well done. That looks like pure carbon. No lettuce. No tomatoes. Just half a pickle and all you can use ketchup.
After a couple bites:
After darkening the outside to near black, the inside was still pickish. The burger was dry and the bun fell apart.
The diner didn't give the impression it was clean. I ordered an iced tea so I didn't get tap water but I they both end up using the same glass and were probably made with the same tap water so I wasn't any more safe. I didn't get sick at least. The burger was only $6.55 so it's hard to demand too much. The burger didn't look appealing when I first got it but it was ediable. I recommend doing a little more research than I did and find a better burger restaurant.

I was there from April 17 - April 23 how about you?
@myskinnyfiles But they don't even put it on the grill after boiling it! Perhaps they always did. I just can't believe Toronto does it better than NYC
There are street fairs going on right now aren't there?
Yikes =X That burger ..... looks sad :(
you could try BRGR: 287 Seventh Ave.,
nr. 26th St next time
ooh...I like your site. Food food food! For a great NYC burger, Corner Bistro can't be beat, and Stand is a newcomer fave: http://newyork.citysearch.com/bestof/winners/hamburger
But you really must get out of midtown. All the good places to eat are below 23rd St. Anything above that is tourist-trappy at Burger unheavenly prices. Discover the delights of downtown!
