We had a couple days of taking out food from Circle K and 711 for breakfast and were growing tired of hiding in a corner or eating in the convenient store.  In Japan, people don't walk around eating and you can't eat on public transit.  So we decided to try out one of the bakeries in the subway station by our hotel:

Anderson has two stores in Ikebuburo.  One of them is a bakery designed with take out in mind with limited seating capacity while the other pictured above is their cafe style bakery with hot drinks and more cooked foods like pork hot dogs.

It's really cramped inside but the straw chairs are comfortable.

    Apple turnover:

It was flaky but dry.  Seemed like it was baked a while ago even though it was still early in the day.

A mushroom pizza and raspberry turnover:

Pizza was at room temperature and raspberry turnover tasted similar to the apple turnover.  Pizza was around $6 while turn over was around $3.

    Ham and cheese sandwich:

The cheese had already solidified when this got to me.  It was also room temperature.  Althought you see toast marks on the bread, it wasn't crispy as it's been sitting out for a while.  This was priced around $4.

The quality of the food was low and with all foods not fresh and all at room temperature after sitting out for a while.  It's serve yourself at both bakery and cafe.  The seating was better in the cafe.  There isn't much choice for restaurants with seating capacity and they don't rush people out the door.  I probably wouldn't come back and prefer rice triangles.
