A couple years ago I went to Europe with my family and visited Paris.  Known for its delicious foods, chewy bagettes, and cheeses, we just had to see for ourselves if it really as good as people say.  One our first day in Paris we decided to stay close to the hotel and leave the sightseeing and adventure for the days ahead.  A restaurant we saw as busy was Au Reveil Samaritain:

    Escargot:

Very beautiful shells but as in all cases, not much meat.  But very buttery and tasty.

    Steak with fries:

The steak was well done on the surface but medium rare inside - as I had requested.  This steak was a sirloin and can't compare to what you get at a dedicated steak restaurant.  There was a strong beef taste to it so it probably wasn't aged.  The potato fries were freshly made and crispy.

Although I forgot to take pictures of the other dishes I had at this restaurant I can tell you the food was good and service was good.  They don't speak English very well so communication can be tricky.  They do have an English menu however.  Price was not unreasonable and compares well against what you would get in Toronto.  What I don't like about Europe is the smoking so we tried to sit as far away from the bar as possible.  I would come back here if I stayed at the same hotel.
