It's our last day in Houston and we decide to visit a popular location by the waterfront.  Kemah hosts a number of children's and young adult rides and restaurants.  I was still feeling like seafood and we were hungry so after walking to one end of Kemah, we found ourselves in front of The Flying Dutchman so we went there:

Great patio seating to enjoy the sun and warm day.

It was after the busy lunch time so it was easy to find a seat:

Wooden chairs and tables for the interior:

    Room temperature complimentary bread:

It was reasonably soft but you can tell it was made a lot earlier in the day.

Special appetizer - avocado and tomatoes over toast, calamari, stuffed jalapeno, chicken tenders:

Although I heard the other waiters congratulating our waiter for being able to sell one of the special appetizers, it turned out to be the best dish of our lunch.  The calamari and chicken tenders were over breaded and very small.  The avocado and tomatoes over thick Texas sliced bread were amazing and filling.  The stuffed jalapeno were spicy, not over breaded, and the filling was alright.

    Stuffed jalapeno close up:

I'm still not sure what's in there.

    Cup of clam chowder:

A good amount of clam.  Creamy and better than Boudin in San Francisco.

    Broiled gulf shrimp:

These took a long time to come and they had originally given me the fried shrimps by accident.  Shrimps were crispy but the cacun spices added nothing to the fairly bland taste.  The grilled vegetables were equality bland.  It's good I was full from the appetizer that I didn't care so much for this dish.

    Washroom:

The washroom was filthy and smelled really bad.  Avoid going to the washroom at all cost.

The special appetizer really made this restaurant for me.  Everything other dish was not impressive.  The waitress we had was reasonably attentive considering she had a number of tables to take care of.  She filled our drinks and tea a number of times.  Food is slow at coming from the kitchen.  The washroom is just disguising and not much better than the public ones you find at Toronto's Centre Island.  I would recommend coming here for the appetizer but avoid the broil dishes and washroom.

hi hi! the restaurant I'm talking about is not quite Pappadeaux but it is the same "Papas" chain http://www.pappasseafood.com/ some of the menu items are fairly similar but some are not. Don't know if it'd be repetitive for you to eat there again. But check out the menu!

Unfortunately, I've never been to Texas before. But if I ever come across the area and this restaurant. I'll remember. :P I was about to say why would you take a picture of the bathroom until I read your comment. :) And yes, I had bad experiences when it comes to shrimp dishes. I ate at this one place called Bennigans (http://www.bennigans.com/menu/seafood.php) and tried their Cajun Chicken and Shrimp pasta. It had too many spices. :/
