I find myself in Houston on a road trip and I've been desiring seafood lately.  So I looked up seafood restaurants in Houston that were by our place.  I found a couple fried seafood places like Half Shells but I wanted something more healthy and had a better seating area.  I found PK's Blue Water Grill and there we were greeted at the front by PK himself.

We came in for late dinner so the dining area was empty but for a few tables while the bar was occupied with live music.

The restaurant decorations are a bit on the bare side.

    PK’s Campechana:

It was our first time visiting PK's Blue Fish Grill and they treat all new patrons with a PK’s Campechana.  It's a mix of shrimps, salsa, mango, green onions, and nachos.  Very tasty.

    Complimentary bread:

    Not hot but soft enough.

    Calamari:

The batter is very light and infused with the calamari so it doesn't flake easily.  It was hot a fresh.

    Fried Shrimp (8):

Fried shrimp's batter in infused and very uniform.  They are also crispy.  Vegetables were grilled like the plate below with too much oil.  For $14 it's an average price.

Farm Raised Texas Redfish (with Shrimp and Crab in a Cajun Cream Sauce):

The dish was very oily and filling.  I couldn't finish it all.  The rich sauces and rice overwhelmed me so I couldn't eat too much.  For $21 it is a tad on the more expensive side.

Dessert like a molten fudge brownie:

It's very yummy but doesn't compare to Roy's Melting Hot Chocolate Soufflé or Finale's Molten Chocolate.  It comes out quickly and chocolately.

    Washroom sink:

When did high end involve a push faucet?  They need to change this to improve the overall experience.

Meeting the owner was quite a surprise and the complimentary campechana really puts a positive impression for the restaurant.  The owner was very welcoming too and causes a cozy family restaurant feel.  The food was average as well as prices.  Service was attentive and positive.  If you're in the area I recommend a visit but it's nothing too far from the usual.
