Half Shells
5800 Legacy Drive
Plano, TX 75024
469-241-1300
http://www.fishcitygrill.comLocated in the busy Shops on Legacy, Half Shells serves a variety of seafood over bagettes, salads, and fries.
A dimly lit interior with lots of simple flat colours.
The seats and tables are really close together so it's a tight fit. Lunch times are very busy but dinner times are much less.
"Born on the Bayou" Gumbo - shrimp, chicken, andouille sausage & okra in a dark roux:
Thick with a good amount of chicken inside. It's a good start for $3.69. A little spicy too.
Grilled Shrimp Dinner:
This dish had the fries swapped for vegetables. Not too many shrimps but it fills a little appetite for $7.99.
Oyster Po-Boy
Small oysters fried in the baguette. A little too much batter for my tastes. For $6.29 it comes with homemade coleslaw.
Shrimp Basket:
Waffle fries were light and hot. A good amount of fried shrimp to fill a light appetite for $5.99. This is not a healthy choice in any sense.
There are a number of salads and grilled dishes but the fried seafoods are what Half Shells specializes. The service is decent, the seating is very tight and noon hours are very busy. Washroom can be an issue since it's a single stall for men and one for women. The prices are very reasonable so I recommend a visit.
