Jasper's is a fancy restaurant that serves, as they put it, gourmet backyard cuisine.  At first you might think how can barbeque be considered fancy?  I gave it a try and I was surprised.

After writing about Jasper's having the second best ribs in the US by the Food Channel in an earlier review, we just had to try out Jasper's ribs for ourselves to see if it's deserving of the title.

    A simple clean interior:

    Maytag Blue Cheese Potato Chips:

The goat cheese blends very well with the creamy sauce.  Chips turned soft with the creamy sauce.  At $10, this appetizer is a little on the pricy side.

Cajun Grilled Snapper Sandwich with Caper Remoulade and Spicy French Fries:

Soft fries that taste much like those from Swiss Chalet but more fresh.  Snapper was prepared grilled with a moist inside.

Slow Smoked Baby Back Ribs with Creamy Baked Potato Salad:

Soft pork ribs that fall off the bone.  The amount of BBQ sauce was just right giving you a sweet yet not overwhelming flavor.  I'm not sure it's the second best in the US but it is very good ribs and has, supported by my friends, replaced Bone Daddy's as our ribs destination.  The creamy baked potato salad tastes much like the Maytag blue cheese potato chips.

Food quality was high as each dish was given much attention to its quality and layout.  Service was prompt but not attentive as one server had to take care of too many tables during the lunch period.  Most lunch dishes are priced around $14 which is just at the point of high end lunch.  I highly recommend a visit and to have a taste of their slow smoked ribs.
