  • Golden China Restaurant

When it's late out there isn't much choice for food if you're not going for pizza or fasf food.  I think most Toronto clubbers know of a specific restaurant in Toronto's China town that's open until 3am but what do you do when you're out in the West end?  While looking for Pho (as you can see from the left side of the picture below) but they were closed so we decided to give Golden China Restaurant a try.

An old style small Chinese restaurant:

Although the chairs are old fashioned, at least the tables are not covered in the white plastic you normally find in old Chinese restaurants like those in China town.

    Wonton Noodle:

The noodles were the fresh kind and not dried ones you get from grocery stores.  The wonton were also handmade so they didn't taste old but I don't think they are made at order time.  There wasn't a lot of vegetables, only 3 stems.  Although the menu gives you a choice of bowl, small, and large, there seems to be only 1 size in reality, one big bowl.  Thankfully it actually cost around $8 instead of the menu's listed price of $11 for the large.

It's a sketchy exterior but food inside was not bad.  We weren't planning to eat too much so we didn't get a chance to try out too many foods.  But from the wonton noodles, the food quality was decent, it doesn't feel like a rip off but not a super bargain.  If you're up late at night then this might be the restaurant for you to try.
