One of my vacation for our trip to Boston is to taste lobster freshly caught off the Atlantic coast.  Here we are at one of the largest sea food chains in Boston, Legal Sea Foods:

A dimly lit, nicely modern, with a hint of harbor interior:

    It's still casual wear inside.

Cup of New England Clam Chowder

Although they claim their clam chowder is served at the past 7 US presidential inaugurations.  I didn't think their clam chowder was out of this world and as such they don't price it that was either with $4 a cup or $6 for a bowl.  It is creamier and had fresher clam than you find in a can of Campbell's Chunky Soups.

Wood Grilled Assortment - Chef’s selection of three fish, shrimp and scallops, choice of two sides (broccoli and seaweed salad shown below):

Fish were tender, broccoli was crisp and cooked enough.  Sea weed salad was very fresh with no old sea weed strands.  For $25 USD it is a good way to taste different fishes.

New England Lobster Bake - steamers, mussels, chouriço, corn on the cob and a steamed 1-1.25 lb. lobster:

With a 1.25 - 1.5lbs lobster priced at $32 USD with 2 sides, the New England Lobster Bake is a steal at $36 USD with a plate full of clams and mussels.  I personally couldn't finish all the clams and mussels.  A bad thing about the  clams and mussels was the present of sand on exposed parts of the meat.  Another bad thing is everything natural tasting so you only have the seafood water flavor in the bowl on the right of the picture above to dip.

Close up view of the lobster tail:

This is the best part of the lobster and indeed needs a dedicated picture for it.  The lobster tail was tender juicy and had a good fresh crispness to it.  Unlike frozen lobster tails, the meat does not cut cleanly like an eraser but like a fish with meat in large strands.

You can even pull the pop off the lobster head:

If you don't like eating the lobster's brain then you'll be missing out on almost half of the lobster.

You need to make a reservation if you're planning to come to Legal Sea Food as they have a very long wait during peak dinner times.  Service was positive with one of the servers (possibly manager) bringing over their largest lobster at the time (8lbs), answering any questions we have about lobsters, and letting us take pictures of it.  All foods are fresh but a tad muted on flavor.  I would recommend coming here for a predictable taste of fresh sea food when you're in Boston for a visit.  Next time I need to try out somewhere by the harbor.
