Surrounded by other restaurants of The Pappa Family, Pappadeaux serves as the seafood anchor for the restaurant family.  Featuring a large selection of fresh fish, shrimps, crabs, and crawfish, Pappadeaux adds a Louisiana-style to their dishes to differentiate it from the standard seafood restaurants like Red Lobsters.

A dimly lit casual open dining area:

    Complimentary bread:

It was borderline dry and just a little warm.  It's hard and chewy on the outside but light and fluffy on the inside.

Mixed Seafood Grill - Two skewers of assorted seafood over dirty rice:

Featuring large shrimps, grilled scallops, and the fish of the day.  Possible fishes include Tilapia, Mahi Mahi, and Salmon, which is what we got.  The skewers were grilled perfectly with juicy soft salmon and crisp shrimps.  The scallops were a little on the unprepared side but very tender.  The only problem was it had much too salt and it wasn't even applied evenly.

Crawfish Platter - Half fried crawfish, half etouffee with dirty rice:

Etouffee is New Orleans style gumbo - making it well suited over rice.  Fried crawfish tastes a lot like popcorn shrimp.  There was a lot of crawfish in both the etouffee and the fried portions.  The fried crawfish were hot and crunchy.  It didn't taste like old oil so it wasn't too heavy.

    Soft Shell Crab:

You can have it prepared in a number of ways like fried or sauteed as we have above.  It tastes a lot different than fried soft shell crab from Japanese restaurants or salt and pepper soft shell crabs from Chinese restaurants.  The crab was hot and the meat was juicy but the shell was waxy and slightly sour.  It's a very odd taste but worth a try.

Main course plates are usually in the $20USD range.  The large portion size makes it very good value.
