Texas isn't all about steaks and barbeque.  There are some ethnic foods outside the usual farm cattle.  So I find myself visiting Pasand from a friend's recommendation:

A very bare office-looking kind of interior:

    Vegetable Pakoras:

This is something like vegetable tempura but it's not tempura but just breaded.  There was just too much breading and it came out cooled.  I think they even used old vegetables as some of them were very stringy.

    Naan:

Thick, warm, and soft.  Nothing special and tasted good.

Vegetable Korma Curry and Butter Chicken:

Almost every Indian restaurant has a different way of making these two dishes.  Thankfully this restaurant didn't make them too thick and oily.  The bad part is that they didn't have much "stuff" inside like the curry was lacking vegetables and the butter chicken was lacking chicken.  I think there might have been at most 5 small pieces of chicken.  It's a good combination of dishes but I felt a bit let down by the quantity.  Maybe I've been in the US too long.

    Gulab Jamun (dessert):

This is like a Timbit soaked in some sugary water.  It was too sweet for me so I didn't finish it.

All the dishes I ordered were part of their "First Timer Special" at $12.95.  I think it's a good choice for dinner as you can taste many of the "safe" dishes from the Indian culture.  The interior of the restarant looks very questionable and the lack of patrons doesn't help.  It's a decent place and worth at least a visit.

huh, that's weird.  we have one pasand in arizona and the lettering is exactly the same as the one in your pic.  i don't think it's a chain though... unless the family has spread out and have the restaurant in two states.  or it might just be coincidence...
