A well known seafood restaurant is Landry's Seafood House.  There's usually a lot of people around for dinner and they don't take dinner reservations.  I was told I had to give this restaurant a try so I hope it lives up to the hype.

    Patio seating:

We got back fairly late and dinner over candle light.  Since the patio is right by the man-made river, you might get a few bugs in the late evening.

    Salad included with our platters:

We both asked for different salad dressings but instead we both ended up with the house dressing.  Croutons were old and not crunchy.  Vegetables were the usual and at room temperature.

    Fisherman's Platter

I'm going to die from all the fried stuff I've been eating.  You have stuff crab, jumbo shrimp, oysters & fish fillet - all fried.  Not mentioned on the menu are the fries and the onion rings.  Delicious.  The fried fish and shrimps were on par with Pete's on the River and did not impress me.

    Broiled Seafood Platter:

The platter features fresh Pontchartrain, gulf shrimp, stuffed shrimp, shrimp scampi, and sauteed scallops.  I felt the scallops were undercooked.  Shrimps were very crispy.

    Washroom:

This is how a nice washroom should look like.  Clean, simple faucets, nice odor, and no puddles of water.

Both dishes were served warm.  The stuffing used for both platters were the same and fairly bland.  It tasted more like a ball of starch.  With each platter priced near $20 USD, it didn't seem like it was significantly better than Pete's on the River if you opt for fried seafood.  The shrimp scampi was on par with Scampi's.  Service was poor with the waitress not being able to provide dish or drink suggestions.  Our chosen salad dressing was replaced with the house dressing.  The waitress was not friendly at all and it felt like she didn't want to be there.  It wasn't busy and she did not engage in any conversation and did not come by our table to check on us (took me a while to get ketchup) except to pick up our check.  If it wasn't for the nice seat by the river, I would have rated this restaurant a lot lower.  There are better restaurants out there so I suggest trying something else.
