It's the summer and it's hot. Time to enjoy a cold dessert after a nice dinner.  Ice cream is one of my favorite desserts and I'm here trying out a popular ice cream chain in the US:

    A simple ice cream store:

They had a couple small chairs and tables to sit, similar to ones at Second Cup.

A lot of funny coloured ice cream.  If they're not too busy, you can probably ask to test each one.

Pecan Praline on a waffle cup:

This is a sweet ice cream that's too sweet for me.  I was looking at Cold Stone's list of ice creams from their nutritional page, most of their ice creams seem to be sweet.  As opposed to other ice cream stores like Baskin Robbins or Braum's, Cold Stones will mix in extras to your ice cream such a oreo cookie crumbles or various nuts.  They do this right in front of your eyes and transform that ice cream into a dough they play with on a cold surface.  I guess it's a stone and that's probably where they came up with the name.  All this is probably included with the base ice cream cost since I didn't get charged for it and a scoop ice cream cost of $3.29 or so is a bit high for just ice cream.

It was good but too sweet for me.  I prefer the gelato from Dolce and walnut ice cream from Braum's over Cold Stone's.  It's worth a try just to see if this is the type of ice cream for you.  I'm probably going to try another flavour like Macadamia Nut or Pistachio
