When you're at a small town, the restaurants are usually at a lower caliber compared to the big cities.  It makes sense - less people, there less money the restaurant can take in.  That is not to say there is no good restaurants at small cities because, sometimes, there hidden gems.  As a food blogger, I'm out to find that hidden gem that specializes in foods typical of the region.

    A Mexican clay building interior:

The carpet is coloured like a casino and contrasts highly with the walls making the restaurant feel very cheesy.

Salad included with our main dish:

The vegetables were fresh and crisp.  Thousand island dressing tastes like the secret sauce in a Big Mac.

    Guacamole:

They say it's freshly made but it tastes like guacamole from any other restaurant.  The additional pico on top made a difference and added variety to the otherwise mashed avocado.  The included nachos were heated and reasonably fresh and crispy.

    Beef Fajita:

Salty beef with nicely sauteed vegetables.  The beans and rice was a bit too much for us.

Enchiladas del Mar - Soft corn tortillas stuffed with shrimp, fish, crab meat, mushrooms and spinach:

This dishes tastes like barf but without the acid.  It has a lot of fresh melted cheese. I wouldn't recommend this dish.

The waiter forgot our pre-meal bread.  The guacamole is priced at $7 USD while the dishes were priced from $13-15 USD.  Mexican food is very filling so for very little money you can be filled.  I really didn't like the test of the food and after eating all the guacamole covered nachos, I was getting sick of avocado too (one of my favorite vegetables too!).  I went home feeling sick and passed out on the couch that night.  I would not come to this restaurant again and, as expected, would not recommend it.
