http://www.masalawok.comWhile looking for alternative restaurants from the usual Korean, Japanese, steaks, ribs, wings, burgers, pizza, and Chinese, we decided to try out some Indian restaurants in the area. A newly opened chain of restaurants in Dallas, Texas is Masala Wok. It follows the similar formula as Pei Wei where you order at the front and find your own seat and utensils while the waiters will bring you your dish.
A nice exterior:

A simple bright interior:

Samosa:

The exterior pastry isn't crispy or light. It's pretty bready and thick. There isn't a variety of ingredients as other places so it's mostly a couple peas and potato. Not a wealth of taste.
Chicken Lollipops:

The arm part of the chicken wing turned upside down and fried. It's surprisingly tasty and possibly better than any dish at the restaurant. A highly recommended addition to your meal.
Chicken Tikka Masala:

A dish that's very similar to butter chicken
I don't remember what dish this was. I'm guessing Vindaloo:

Each dish is about $8 USD and appetizers are $5 USD. A very fair place for Indian food. Unlike other Indian restaurants, these dishes were portioned and mainly designed for individual consumption. We had also tried the spring rolls but they were not good. Most of the main dishes rely on the same orange sauce as the Chicken Tikka Masala and most meats were overcooked. The sauces were interesting enough to warrant a second visit. I recommend a visit but I wouldn't make this a regular place. The casual nature also doesn't make it a good place to go with a date.

And thanks for the compliments! We're only as good our peers, right? Keep the good stuff coming bro!
I haven't been in forever...I've been thinking about going back sometime. I'm originally from the Dallas area (but born in Houston) and most pho places up there in Dallas/Plano are very, very disappointing. I'd suggest Pho Tau Bay in Houston if you ever find yourself there. My mom makes the good stuff too but...that's a family guarded secret!
