Toronto is fairly land-locked and you can't get seafood from any of the great lakes.  But that doesn't hold back some good seafood restaurants appearing in Toronto's landscape.  Today we went to JP2 Oyster and Grill:

A dimly lit simple classic interior:

    New England Clam Chowder:

This was a great soup for dipping our bread in.  As you can see, it was fairly liquidty.  From tasting it, you can tell there wasn't much clam or any seafood inside.

    Seafood Platter:

A huge centre clam.  It's as expected.  A very watery sauce with very little flavour and mostly a raw seafood taste throughout.

    Pan Fried Black Cod:

A very delicious cod.  Very tender but it tasted a bit cool.

Service was very slow and our bread arrived significantly after the clam chowder arrived and only a bit earlier than the main course.  Most dishes were warm but didn't feel like it was hot enough.  Pricing was fair with soup $5, seafood platter $16, and cod $17.  I walked out of the restaurant with no memorable taste in mind.  I think the bread and clam chowder was the best.  If you don't mind amateur service and decent food then this might be a place to try.
