Cafe Express
18101 Preston Rd.
Dallas, TX 75252
http://www.cafe-express.comDallas seems to spawn a large number of chain restaurants. The latest chain fast food restaurant we visited is Cafe Express. Serving a mix of pasta, salads, sandwiches, and grill foods, Cafe Express is another Southwestern restaurant that hopes to appeal to the lunch crowd with something for everyone in the group:

Similar to other fancier fast food restaurants, you place your order, they provide you a pager, and you wait for your food to be prepared. It's a darker interior but attractively decorated with the fake palm tree over the condiments and solid wood chair and tables:

Hamburger:

Light thin fries accompany the thick juicy burger. The hamburger is a pre-made patty that's higher quality than ones you find at your local grocery store freezer.
Pasta Marinara:

For some reason, all our food cooled off really quickly, including my hamburger.
Cafe Express has decent food that averages $8-12 a dish. The lunch and dinner menu are the same. One thing stands out with this restaurant is their variety of items available from their condiments bar such as jalepino, stuffed olives, and bread sticks. In terms of food, there isn't anything special about this restaurant except it's a good change from the "usual".
