Miga Korean & Japanese Bbq Restaurant
2382 Dundas Street West
Mississauga, ON L5K 1R7There are a lot of Japanese and Korean restaurants in Toronto, Markham, and Richmond Hill but there are not as many in Mississauga. On of the restaurants we went for Japanese food is Miga. Outside is clean and nicely decorated. They have their own parking so it's easy to find a spot:

We ordered a Korean dish they came with Korean side dishes:

I liked the bean sprouts and the green stuff. I'm not a fan of kim chi or the salad sauce (mayo) corn.
I ordered Japanese so it came with salad:

My order of rolls with spicy salmon rolls, california rolls, and alaskan rolls:

I thought it was well presented. The rolls were freshly rolled. I didn't really like the taste of the spicy salmon rolls. I liked the soft ripe avocado they used for the rolls. Rolls at the ends of the alaskan rolls include decorational lettuce that look nice but are bitter tasting.
Overall it was good Japanese rolls. My friend ordered a beef rice pot that I liked. I would more likely come back to try Korean food than go for Japanese.

(update below)
I had the chance to go back to Miga to try out their Korean food.
Salad with the BBQ for 2:

Salad has a light soy sauce as dressing. Greens were fresh.
Not your ordinary cooking oil on the BBQ, it's a chunk of beef fat!

The raw marinated chicken (closer) and pork (further) for us:

The chicken and pork are marinated in some spicy sauce which was great. The chicken and pork are thicker than most other Korean BBQ places so it tastes more substantial. Both the pork and chicken were tender. The chicken was white meat so be aware.
Beef and short ribs cooking on the BBQ:

I love beef and short ribs and the seasoning was great. Not too salty and very flavorful! Once again, beef and short ribs were very tender.
We also ordered a bowl of spicy tofu with beef:

The red colour misleads one to think it's very spicy but it's not. There is a lot of tofu but very few meat inside. It is a lot more watery than the Chinese variant ("ma po" tofu).
My thought was correct. The Korean food was a lot better than the Japanese food at Miga. I would definitely recommend Miga for a try. My sister had some bad experiences at Korean restaurants and this has definitely changed her mind about Korean food, in a good way. One thing I forgot to mention in my review before, the service at Miga is very good. Sometimes they forget things (when they're very busy) but they quickly fix it for you. I highly recommend Miga if you're in the Mississauga area for Korean food.
