  • CongeeTime

It's lunch time and a really busy place, especially on weekends, is Congee Wong.  From it's success, many similar type congee restaurants have opened in Toronto.  Many of them look very similar from the interior design so I wonder if they're all owned by the same people.

A new one that opened in the last couple months is CongeeTime at Cummer and Yonge:

It looks like any other congee place from the inside.

    Curry noodles:

Spicy!  I wish I ordered the thinner noodle one.

Congee with liver and beef balls:

The congee is the right thickness but it didn't have much of the liver taste in it.

Overall it's the usual congee restaurant fare.  Nothing special to report here but if you're looking for congee this is a place you can go.

I was actually there a couple of weekends ago. Good Chinese food for the price. But waiters and waitresses took forever to get me my glass of water. At one point, I had 4 different people getting me a glass of water simply because the others may have forgotten.

Honestly, I still haven't been to Congee Wong but I had to stress that the spicy noodles not only looks good, it actually aroused my appetite to a great deal and even reminded me that I haven't eaten all day long. While it may be nothing special as you say, it might have a big impact over a person that is really hungry (like me), so thanks for sharing it.
