The Blue Fish
925 W John Carpender Frwy
Irving TX 75061I like Japanese food and so does my team. Texas isn't close to any large bodies of water but it has some decent Japanese restaurants. One of them is The Blue Fish:

The inside contains a loungy bar along with an open dining area:

The cheap seats and tables look like it can be easily opened at night to be a club.
The classic chicken bento box:

Good value with soup, salad, orange, chicken, dumpling, one shrimp, and california rolls. Chicken wasn't hot and seemed microwaved. I really liked the salad with the crispy strips. One of the best salads to come with a bento box.
California Rolls and Spicy Salmon Rolls:

The california rolls look like those from T&T Supermarket but at least the avocado is big and soft. The spicy salmon rolls used very minced up salmon and chilli sauce. I prefer spicy mayo.
A special roll:
The chicken bento box is around $10.50 USD while california and spicy salmon rolls where $6 each order. The price is fairly high compared to Toronto but if you keep in mind that this is Texas and there isn't the competition here as in Toronto, it will justify the high cost.
Overall, I would come here again. They do have high prices but it's not significantly high. The good quality is decent and the rolls are usually fresh but I felt that the rolls were rushed and come out deformed.
