I'm in Texas where the cattle run wild and the BBQs always hot.  So where's the meat?

One of the sources of meat I've been to is at Bone Daddy's House of Smoke:

It's a nicely theme restaurant with barn yard things hanging on the restaurant ceiling.  The outside is nice looking but doesn't quite fit the barn yard theme inside.

    The interior:

I ordered the Beer Can Chicken:

Yes, that's a beer can stuck up the bum of the chicken.  One chicken is quite a lot for me so I gave away one whole thigh and both the drum sticks.  I did not finish that mashed potato you see in the front.  I don't think it's healthy to eat this much.  The chicken has a bit of a bitter taste from the beer.  It's not a sweet taste like BBQ sauce.  My friend didn't like it too much.  I found the chicken fairly tender.  The chicken breast was a bit dry but nothing that ketchup can't fix.

    Updated:

    Messy Grilled Chicken Wings:

Their wings are large, fresh, and tender.  They are not the type that is cooked then sauce applied.  On Mondays, wings are 50 cents each for any number and the size of them don't change from the usual days.  An additional plus, wings are considered the whole arm and wing part of the chicken.  I know a lot of places that separate them and count them separately.

    Half rack of baby-back Ribs:

Their ribs are the wet type, very moist and flavorful.  They don't have a choice of flavors however.  The cheezy bread is so good that I would want another.  It just melts in your mouth.  I usually get a side of cole slaw as that is one of the few sources of veggies but it's quite a lot of mayo.  My other side is the spuds which is like mashed potatoes with added extras like bacon.

Overall I would say I wouldn't order this chicken again because I didn't like the bitter taste.  For $11.60 USD, this whole chicken is a very good deal.  It's a lot bigger and juicy than the BBQ chicken you get at the grocery store.  However, be aware this restaurant is slightly adult themed like Hooters.  I would not suggest taking a first date to this restaurant.  If you're with the guys then this is a good restaurant to hang out and catch the game on their many hanging TVs.  I highly recommend the ribs and the wings from here.
