  • August Moon Seafood Restaurant

We're frequently on the go and back in Toronto I love Chinese food.  We decided to pick up take out from August Moon restaurant at Kennedy and Highway 7:

Inside is a nice cozy size:

We ordered a four course meal for the family.

    Chicken:

I wished this dish was spare ribs instead of chicken.  The bones are still in the chicken and quite fragmented.  Be careful of the shattered bones.

    Spicy Salt Fried Shrimps:

I was too lazy to de-shell the shrimps so I ate it whole.  After eating a couple of these, my throat felt like i had something poking on it.  I ate a slice of bread and drank some soup to wash it down.  I was concerned about choking on the shell or it puncturing my throat.  So, don't be like me, don't be lazy and de-shell your shrimp.

    Mushrooms and Bak Choy:

This is a good dish.  I like mushrooms and bak choy is yummy.

    Sweet and Sour Beef:

Nothing special about this dish.  It's the typical sweet and sour served everywhere except not in the USA.  The USA seems to get some neon pink sweet and sour sauce.

Overall, it's good food but nothing special.  I had some bad moments but it's all because of myself.  I recommend this place for take out food.  All four dishes cost $23 in total.  Pretty good price.

I wished those were spare ribs too... it was like, "What the..." after biting into it.  The king mushrooms were NOT that good.  The sweet and sour beef was pretty good.  I think I liked it because I was so hungry.  It's good for $23.  We should order the take-out from the store on Midland next time and make a review on that--yummy and very affordable!
