http://www.brguestrestaurants.com/restaurants/blue_water_grill_new_york/index.phpThis week was my trip to New York City. Had a great trip running around Lower Manhattan looking at Chinatown, Financial district, and around Union Square. For dinner we went to somewhere special. We went to a well known restaurant called the Blue Water Grill.

The restaurant is located very popular area across from Union Square. It has a main floor, patio, upper floor, and a lower floor. We had a reservation for the upper floor. We went on a Saturday but the wait time for people walking in with a party of 4 was only 20 minutes at 6pm so you don't have to wait long.
Seats are nice and tables are small. I sort of wonder if this place even makes the fire code. The upper floor has a very low overhead so taller people should avoid this floor.
We had a soft shell crab sushi for appetizer and a kind of lobster biscuit.
I really liked the sushi but it wasn't anything special you can't get in Toronto.
The lobster biscuit was disappointing. The biscuit was very dry. The sauce was nice though.
We also ordered a red wine for our meal. It was by J. I wished I knew wines a bit better but my friends say it was good.
For my main course I ordered their Salmon special. It was topped with thin slices of cucumber and sat on top of a bed of stuff that had pickle.
I would say the salmon was light and well done. It had a very fresh taste to it and I think it had to do with the slices of cucumbers. I wasn't quite filled with this plate so we followed up with dessert.
We ordered a creme brule and fondu.
I think we liked the fondu better as we ate up the fresh fruits so quickly. The creme brule had a crispy cookie on it so it didn't have as much of the sugarly crust. The inside was just like any other egg... just like a chinese egg tart.

I would say that the Blue Water Grill is a good restaurant situated in a really happening area. It's really convenient and has a really nice atmosphere.
